The Lomographic Society has announced new Lomography scanning kits, the DigitaLIZA+ and DigitaLIZA Max. The new Max kit comes with everything you need to start scanning film using your smartphone, including film holders, an adjustable stand and a backlight.
The DigitaLIZA+ and Max promise ‘truly versatile and accessible’ film scanning in a simple workflow. Beginners and experienced scanners alike can quickly scan 35mm and 120 format negatives with a smartphone or digital camera. You can also scan special format negatives with the new kits, including overlapping exposures, panoramic frames and film borders like sprocket holes.

The Lomography DigitaLIZA+ includes a 35mm film holder, 120 film holder and backlight panel, and frame for 127 negatives. The 120 film holder is built directly into the backlight panel. The panel also includes a removable spirit level to ensure that your scanning kit and camera stay straight. The 35mm film holder can be used with an external light source if you prefer. As Lomography says, ‘Film scanning has never been so easy.’
The DigitaLIZA Max comes with all the features of the DigitaLIZA+ while also adding a smartphone stand. The stand is compatible with all smartphones and lets you quickly and easily scan film without a dedicated digital camera kit. You simply attach your smartphone to the stand, flick on the backlight unit, and you’re all set to start scanning your 35mm and 120 film negatives.
The DigitaLIZA+ and DigitaLIZA Max are expected to begin shipping in May. The DigitaLIZA+ retails for $75. If you want to be able to quickly use your smartphone for scanning, the DigitaLIZA Max is $99. For additional information, visit Lomography.
