Filter manufacturer H&Y is teasing a new system for magnetic accessories and filters that it intends to launch on Kickstarter on 20th April. The new Swift system incorporates a magnetic Revoring that’s adjustable for a range of filter thread sizes and which acts as a base for filters, filter holders, a matte box, lens hood and a drop-in filter system.
The system will be divided into two streams, one for stills shooters and one for videographers. The principle difference will be that stills system comes with a rubber lens hood while the video kit comes with a matte box – and there will be some differences in the filters offered as standard.

The idea behind the system is that filters and their holders just snap on and off the Revoring, so they can be switched between lenses very quickly. The matte box/lens hood can attach to the Revoring via a magnetic adapter or via any filters mounted to the Revoring, so layers of filters and accessories can be built out and secured just through the magnetic connection.
H&Y is inviting users to sign up for early-bird discounts via its website.
