Leica’s latest limited-edition camera is a gold-plated M10-P kit expected to sell for $50K

In the event Leica’s $20,000 ‘Titan’ camera kit wasn’t enough to satiate your need for ultra-expensive cameras, fear not. Leica has announced it’s teaming up with Thai Beverage to release limited-edition gold Leica M10-P cameras to celebrate the coronation of King Maha Vajiralongkorn. Each kit will cost roughly $50,000.

The limited-edition kit comes in two varieties. The first kit features an M10-P, an APO Summicron 50mm F2 ASPH and a Summilux 35mm F1.4 ASPH lens, all of which are gold-plated, with the M10-P featuring a yellow crocodile leather body wrap. The second kit features the M10-P with green crocodile leather and comes with only the APO Summicron 50mm F2 ASPH lens. Both models will feature a royal Thai emblem engraved on the top, with the serial number and serialization number engraved into the hotshoe mount.

According to Photography Daily theme, 10 units of the yellow kit will be available and 20 units of the green kit will be available for an estimated $50,000 and $30,000, respectively. This would make these kits some of the priciest limited-edition versions Leica has ever released.

Both kits will come in a luxurious wood box that locks with a key and a royal Thai insignia engraving on top. Inside, the camera and lens(es) will be securely placed within a suede-like material for safekeeping. All kits come with a hand-signed certificate of authenticity, signed by Thai Beverage President and CEO Thapana Sirivadhanabhakdi, Leica Camera AG Chairman Dr. Andreas Kaufmann and Leica Camera AG CEO Matthias Harsch.

Even if you do want to snag one of these super-limited-edition Leica kits, it’s not clear yet where they will be available to purchase. We have contacted Leica for additional pricing and availability information.
