Cosina has announced the Voigtländer MACRO APO-ULTRON 35mm F2 lens for Fujifilm X-mount cameras. The lens is manual, but is chipped with electronic contacts so it can transfer lens data to the camera for embedded metadata and better support for features like image correction, focus confirmation and image stabilization on X-mount cameras with in-body image stabilization (IBIS).
this lens is constructed of nine elements in six groups, including three ultra-low dispersion elements. It features a 1:2 magnification ratio with a minimum focusing distance of 16cm (6.3”), uses a 49mm front filter thread and has a ten-blade aperture diaphragm. The aperture is controlled via a clicked ring with intervals every 1/3 stop.

By including a chipset and electronic contacts, Cosina has made this lens compatible with an array of features on select X-mount camera systems. In addition to transferring EXIF data from the lens to the camera, the lens also supports the use of focus confirmation, image stabilization and parallax correction on compatible Fujifilm camera systems. The lens will still work on non-compatible X-mount cameras, but the camera will need to have the [Release without lens] setting turned on so the camera will still snap a photo when the shutter is pressed.

The Voigtländer MACRO APO-ULTRON 35mm F2 lens for Fujifilm X-mount cameras has a suggested retail price of ¥93,000, which exchanges to roughly $670. It’s set for an August 2022 release and comes with a screw-in lens hood.
