Steven Spielberg’s first music video is here!
With such a storied career like Steven Spielberg’s, it’s a wonder he has never directed a music video—but hey, it’s never too late. Spielberg set up in a high school gym on July 3 and directed Marcus Mumford’s new music video, using just his cell phone and some help from friends.
Oh, and it’s a oner as well!
The news of the video dropped on social media this morning.
Check out the music video from Marcus Mumford below.
This is an interesting video and outing for Spielberg. It has to be the lowest budget project he’s worked on since he was a kid, and there’s real freedom here. Lots of exciting moves in the one, and I love the visuals of such an intimate portrait. Also, the idea of Spielberg shooting on a phone and challenging himself on a small scale also shows that no matter how much success you have, it’s always fun to experiment.
