AstrHori has released its new 85mm F2.8 Tilt Macro, a fully-manual 1:1 macro APS-C lens for an array of mirrorless camera systems.
The macro lens is constructed of 11 elements in eight groups, including two extra-low dispersion elements. It uses a 12-blade aperture diaphragm, has a minimum focusing distance of 28cm (11”), uses a 55mm front filter thread, rotates a full 360-degrees and has a tilt angle of +/-8º.

Tilting the lens is done via a knurled knob that moves along marked points to know how many degrees the lens is tilted. There’s also a locking mechanism to lock the tilt in place so it doesn’t get bumped while moving around or making other adjustments. Rotation is done on the rear of the lens via a dedicated ring that clicks every 30º.
Being fully manual, the lens doesn’t transfer any kind of EXIF data to the camera, nor does it work with any kind of focus confirmation features. The lens measures 6.3cm (2.48”) in diameter by 11cm (4.33”) long. No weight is listed at this time.

The lens is designed for an array of full-frame lens mounts – Canon RF, Fujifilm X, L, Nikon Z and Sony E mounts – but AstrHori says all tilt functionality should be limited to crop-sensor shooting modes on full-frame cameras.
The AstrHori 85mm F2.8 Tilt Macro lens is available to purchase for $329.
