What good is an awards show without anyone to give the awards to? Thanks to the AMPTP’s refusal to negotiate with SAG and the WGA, Fox has decided to postpone the Emmy awards until January.
Thanks to the strike, neither writers nor actors would be there to collect their awards, so Fox decided it was best for ratings to move it.
The Emmys were initially set to happen on September 18th, 2023. Now, they’ll have to find a new date in January that works for both guilds.
But this date will not be decided until the strike ends.
The AMPTP has still not come back to the negotiating table to meet with the writers or actors. So until those talks start, there can be no real hypothesizing when this strike ends.
