Whether you’re live streaming, sending a signal to video village, or want your focus puller away from the camera, wireless video solutions are now a necessity on set.
And companies like Teradek, Atomos, and Hollyland are there to fulfill those needs no matter your budget level. For our “Deals of the Week,” we found a tool from each manufacturer to untether your video from your camera.
Teradek Bolt 6 LT 750
Teradek is an industry standard for wireless video transmission. After it were acquired by Vitec Group (or Vitec Production Solutions Ltd, it’s hard to keep track anymore), the company was packaged with other brands to expand the capabilities of its products—namely, SmallHD.
A lot has changed in the wireless video world, but Teradek is still the go-to toolset for many high-budget productions. That means it also comes at a premium.
Teradek Bolt 6 LT 750
Send and receive lossless video from up to 750′ away along line of sight with the Bolt 6 LT 750 3G-SDI/HDMI Wireless Transmitter and Receiver from Teradek. The unit can wirelessly send up to 4K30 video with 10-bit HDR support, features a bright OLED display, and features HDMI and 3G-SDI outputs.
Atomos Shogun CONNECT 7″
While Atomos is now a big player in the wireless video game after it’s last few releases, it didn’t really start in the type of market. Initially, the company released a series of popular monitor/recorders that offered creatives the ability to shoot RAW with cameras that didn’t come with that functionality. Recently, Atomos has branched out into the streaming and live-production world by adding wireless capabilities to its products.
Atomos Shogun CONNECT 7″
The Shogun CONNECT expands upon the HDR recording and monitoring capabilities of the Shogun by integrating cloud connectivity via its multiple wireless interfaces. The 7″ 1920 x 1200 touchscreen display boasts a brightness of 2000 cd/m² and a loop-through 12G-SDI input and output interface supports SDI RAW recording.
SmallHD ULTRA 5 Bolt 6 TX 750
SmallHD is another company under the Vitec banner. Their on-camera monitors are seen all over the motion picture industry, but since being aquired, the SmallHD product line has been uniquely combined with Teradak transmission tools. Much like the one below!
SmallHD ULTRA 5 Bolt 6 TX 750 Kit
Add an ultra-bright monitor to your production rig with the SmallHD ULTRA 5 Bright Touchscreen Monitor, which features a 3000 bright cd/m² display for viewing in just about any indoor or outdoor environment. The 5″ 1920 x 1080 touchscreen LCD provides a sharp image and 10-bit 4:2:2 Rec. 709 color processing, ideal for focus pulling and image analysis on set and in the field.
