Along with some major announcements about Premiere Pro’s new Media Intelligence and Search Panel AI-powered upgrades, Adobe has announced some more notable additions and integrations set to come to Frame.io.
Adobe has shared that they’ve partnered with Canon to deliver some new integrations between Frame.io Camera to Cloud (C2C) and some select Canon cameras. Plus, with a recent firmware update, users of these cameras are now able to automatically upload proxy files directly from your Canon cameras to Frame.io.
This updated workflow should give your post-production teams and creative stakeholders access to footage from anywhere within moments of image capture. Let’s look at how this works and share which Canon cameras are set to get this new integration.
Canon Frame.io C2C Integration
So, not to bury the lede here too much, the big news is that the following cameras are set to get this new integration between Frame.io Camera to Cloud and Canon:
- The Canon C80
- The Canon C400
Both of these are newer cinema cameras from Canon and are right in the wheelhouse for creative professionals and videographers who might be most interested in C2C productions. And, since Premiere Pro now supports raw camera formats from these cameras, this integration will allow teams to truly get the best speed and quality from these workflows.
Frame.io Camera to Cloud Workflows
The ultimate goal here is to allow shooters to send proxy files to the cloud quickly so that a team can start an edit and relink to the camera originals before a final delivery. With just a Frame.io account, a Canon C80 or Canon C400, a network connection, and a simple six-digit pairing code, shooters will now be able to start uploading video files to the cloud within minutes of capture.
Canon notes that this solves many issues shooters and production teams face by enabling a new way to collaborate in real-time that unlocks faster project turnarounds and the crucial ability to address any potential issues before production wraps.
By addressing problems as they occur, teams can avoid costly reshoots and have greater confidence that everything they’ve captured is securely stored and accessible regardless of location. So, whether you’re working on an independent project or a large-scale production, this integration is set to offer a streamlined, more efficient workflow from capture to edit.
