While the majority of filmmakers and video professionals might want to look at the consumer-model DJI drones to get their aerial videography and sky cinematography footage for their projects, it’s always interesting to see what the Enterprise-level models are capable of.
In a recent video post that’s gone viral, a user has shared a comparison between three of DJI’s top-of-the-line Enterprise drones and their zoom capabilities. These DJI Enterprise drones—the Mavic 3T, the Matrice 4T, and the Matrice 30T—are all highly capable professional drones that are great options for all types of land, conservation, and construction industries for a reason.
Let’s look at how these three DJI Enterprise drones compare and see how their zoom functions might eventually make their way to the consumer-model DJI drones that you can use on your own films and video projects.
Mavic 3T vs Matrice 4T vs Matrice 30T Zoom Comparison
As mentioned above, this all comes from a very interesting viral X post that compares the zoom capabilities of these three Enterprise drones. As you can see in the clip above, shared by DJI’s official X account with credit to the original creator at SkyGrid.ro, the zoomability is quite insane.
The video creator is able to use these three DJI Enterprise drones to zoom all the way in on the license plate of a car that is quite far away and—in at least two of the models—be able to accurately read the numbers and letters.
In this comparison, the DJI Mavic 3T is the only model not able to zoom all the way into the plate and legibly read the info. However, the other two Enterprise drones do so quite easily, exposing the power of their zoom capabilities.
DJI Mavic 3T
So, to avoid any confusion off the bat here, the “T” in the Mavic 3T mentioned above stands for “Thermal” and is available to purchase in a kit model that comes with one year of free DJI Care Enterprise Plus, an RTK Module, and a Mavic 3 Battery Kit.
The thermal lens of the three-camera gimbal of the Mavic 3 is ideal for industrial inspection and first responder search and rescue. And, when adding the included RTK module, this Mavic 3 can deliver centimeter-level precision mapping for surveying, farming, and construction.
With the added battery kit to provide three flight batteries and a charger, Enterprise users get up to 46 minutes of flight time per battery, letting you inspect, search, or map for longer. Here are the specs and purchase options.
